Sue Fleig Canine Consulting
Salon Tour

Let's start our tour of Sue's Clip Joint mobile grooming salon on the left side of the van. The chassis is a Ford Econoline E350 1 ton with a V-8 engine which gets about 11mpg. The salon conversion was done by JT Custom Works now Harvey Mobile Grooming Studios (tm). In this view you can see the air conditioner and power vent as well as the large window in the popup which provides lots of natural light. Also on this side of the van are receptacles for external electrical power and the filler port for the propane tank.

Moving on to the right side, we see the large double doors which provide easy access to the salon area. To the rear are the fresh water fill valve and holding tank controls.

Opening the double doors shows the main grooming area and the power lift grooming table. This table make life easier for your pet (not to mention the groomer!) by reducing the stress of lifting. Also visible in this view is some of the tubing for the power vacuum system which helps keep flying hair to a minimum. Although this photo does not show it well, the popup allows full standup working height throughout the salon area.

Across the rear of the salon area is the tub and bathing area. Fresh water for bathing is carried in an on-board tank and heated using a propane-fired water heater. Waste water from the tub is held in a waste water tank for later disposal. Note liberal use of fluorescent lighting and the shampoo dispenser system.

Not shown on the tour is the rear compartment. In the rear compartment are the pumps, heaters, tanks, blowers, and vacuums that make the salon work.
